Turning clean urban air
into reality
At RI-URBANS we reshape the way
air quality is measured
Addressing a major health issue
We aim at eliminating hazards posed by bad air quality
Despite vast improvements in recent decades, poor air quality remains a worldwide health problem, causing many deaths every year. In addition, the air pollutants of today are different to those from 15 years ago, creating new hazards that are yet to be studied.
To identify and address these changes, we at RI-URBANS will modify the existing tools used to analyse air quality. This will allow us to better understand and manage these new risks.

Enhancing existing tools
Our solutions improve the analysis of air quality
Identifying new pollutant sources and tailoring metrics

We develop new measuring systems to adapt to the changes in pollutants
Evaluating the health effect on citizens

We assess the impacts of the new pollutants on health, and analyse the resulting measurements
Creating models and emission inventories

We develop better modelling tools and gather previously collected emission data
